Dick Houston, President of Elefence, will give a brief film presentation and sign copies of his latest book, Bulu: African Wonder Dog. A true story, which Booklist calls "an animal lover's delight," captures the life and adventures of one of the most courageous Jack Russell terrier-mix dogs who ever lived. While the book portrays major events in Bulu's life, it also includes information about conservation in Africa and documents Steve and Anna Tolan, Bulu's human parents', environmental-education work with Zambian children.
Dick will share his stories about how Bulu faced down crocodiles, cobras, and lions in terrifying encounters protecting the orphans.
The book has been selected for the Junior Library Guild and for Teen Read Week and is appropriate for both adults and children.
