Conrad Froehlich

Honorary Trustee

Conrad Froehlich,  ELEFENCE Honorary Trustee, has been Director of the Martin and Osa Johnson Safari Museum in Chanute, Kansas since 1989. Conrad holds a B.A. and M.A. in Anthropology, with a focus on Museum Studies from Miami University in Ohio. Froehlich is honored to have served during important phases in the museum's growth, including the move to Chanute's renovated historic depot, the expansion of staffing and educational services, and the development of important museum partnerships in Africa, North Borneo, and the South Seas. He has also worked on licensing collaborations with major American corporations, and museum media licensing with National Geographic, Smithsonian, PBS, and BBC. In recognition of his work at the Safari Museum®, the American Alliance of Museums awarded Conrad its Nancy Hank Memorial Award for Professional Excellence (one of only 26 individual recipients since 1985). He is a past President of the Kansas Museum's Association, and has served on national museum committees and is a presenter at professional conferences. Conrad enjoys visiting with all guests, museum supporters, and Martin and Osa Johnson fans from all over the world.
